Notable drop in productivity after Spring Break:

Researchers through 45 states were able to use statistical analysis to discover that after spring vacation, productivity dropped an average of 15% points. Calculating things such as class room participation, test scores, homework completion, and project work, researchers from thee American Efficiency Institute (AEI) noticed a downwards trend in all areas. Teachers reported a nearly 20% increase in late or incomplete homework the week after spring vacation, as well as a uniform 13% drop in testing grades. Furthermore, projects completed before vacation were typically of a higher quality and did not look like something put together by a group of teenagers after 5 bottles of soda. Teachers responded to the study, Ohio teacher Mark Mandau said: “Why, after 15 years of teaching, I had begun to strongly suspect that productivity would drastically drop after spring vacation. Every spring break, my first period class show up half-dead in my room, that is, if they show up at all!” The senate reportedly reacted to this problem by authorizing a 70 billion dollar fund to increase productivity, while the House reportedly voted to cut teacher’s pay until they brought after-break productivity up.
